4Running Daily's Build Thread

Nice, I probably should do that too one of these days. What about your compressor? You get that fixed?

Today I pulled it completely out of my truck, including the wiring harness that went through the fire wall. I checked all the connections and plugged it in to my spare car battery. It still didn't work. I've narrowed it down to the pressure switch on the compressor. I'm waiting for ARB to respond so they can send me a new one. Hopefully that will fix it...

Just wondering how you like the new clutch. We're the parts from Marlin? What issues led you to going with new hardware?

Thanks.

I love my new clutch, it's SOOOO much better. The clutch was slipping at about 3,000 rpms in all gears. With 169,000 miles on the original discs, it was time for some new hardware. All my parts were from Marlin because I wanted to do it right the first time.

Interesting. Our '00 with 160K+ has some serious clutch chatter. You are the second person I've noted who recently installed Marlin hw with positive results. My 17 yr old twin sons drive and wrench on that vehicle. I will recommend that they read your build thread.

You mentioned that the shop who installed the clutch and other parts had about five hrs in it ,correct?

Correct, roughly 5 hours. They also replaced my rear main seal too.

You new Savage parts are looking good man!
I like that you took the time to paint the parts underneath it too. It looks so much cleaner that way.

Thanks! Definitely have to do it right the first time!

looks great Connor :)
Thanks! Not going to lie, I'll miss your BMW posts on Instagram...

Just bought myself the new MacBook Pro, it's sick! My old laptop wouldn't let me boot iPhoto without crashing, so hopefully I can upload some more sick shots as well as some video footage. :D

Yeah I miss it too, just needed the cash. I'll have another:)
I saw the new computer, nice!

Air locker works again, turns out my pressure switch malfunctioned. A quick email to ARB and they sent me a new one. Now I'm good to go!

Go beat on this thing already.

Real talk. I had to pull the entire system out of the 4Runner in order to find the problem. So hopefully on Thursday I can find the time to hardwire everything back into place... Then this weekend I'll go beat on it for your enjoyment.

4x4runner2002 you ever get that GoPro footage haha!

Gas mileage

What has your gas mileage been like after the switch from the street tires to the 255. I'm considering a similar switch. What were you getting before vs after?
Thanks in advance.

I got 15.5 mpg in city before, and now I get 15 city.

Highway before was 21 mpg, and now it's 19.999999.

I honestly love these tires, they haven't let me down yet!
