Nope, if anything it's more efficient then the stock bumper. It's certainly better then a plate bumper.

The bottom of the frame rails needed to be grounded down flat so the brackets can sit flat.

So a Savage Front Bumper update for those that want one.
Over the past weekend while wheeling, I climbed a lot of large cliffs. Well in an effort to not ride my clutch I actually hit one of these cliffs so hard that I pushed the bumper upwards on it's mounts before climbing up it. See the Savage Brackets allow a lot of movement in order to make it fit just right on the body lines. The bumper is secured to each bracket with 4 bolts. Will if you hit one side hard enough, the bolts can shift on the mounts.

Sorry, took me long enough. Here are a couple pictures to give you an idea. Looks like the mud stained it a little bit, but you get the idea, definitely a lot better then before.

It's hard to get a camera to take a picture of under the fender because it over exposes the outside of the fender. I have a couple more, I'll post them up when I get home from work.
Good thing these are load E. Hahaha

The more pics the better (don't go all Eurotrip 2012 though on me). One visual problem with my 4runner is that the previous owners took to using a pressure washer once to clean under the wheel wells. It did not give them the result they were looking for as they told me when I bought the 4runner.
I'd like to just use a taping job if I could get away with it.

I know how that is. I have yet to tackle my rear wheel wells, but they need it.
I hope these give you a better idea. Tape is probably the way to go. Not worth taking the fenders off. Just make sure you tape off any possible over spray, door jams etc. Although this might not be a problem for you because I assume you still have the plastic liner in the front wheel wells? I don't...

I do. All stock, for the most part.
If I get the motivation, and when I get back from vacation, and I can find a warm day before Spring, I will try it out and post a pic or two (not a couple).

I made a CB antenna mount over the past few days, so that will be mounted tomorrow and then pictures will be taken
Things to look forward to for the first part of the year
-Coolant flush (Running a little hot)
-Dous's power steering rack and new outer tie rods
-Route CB antenna wire
-Savage Skids and Rear Bumper with carrier
-Front Aussie locker probably (Thanks [MENTION=91297]Kraze[/MENTION])
