So chances are I'll be moving to Colorado in August. Luckily, there engine swap regulations are a lot better then commi-California.
And luckily, I'll be getting my last smog test in California in the next month, which means after that, I'm really free to do whatever I want.
So what are our suggestions for a swap?
Cons to a V8 are the fact that I must have an automatic basically.
Cons to a 4.0 V6 is how new they are and I'd probably end up needing the whole drivetrain.

Accepted to Colorado School of Mines and Colorado University, Boulder.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

If memory serves me correctly, I thought your college car was going to be a Ford Focus ST. It could be my old age though.
ME = math, and lots of it. But I think Brian is a ME isn't he? I would have loved to be a CE, but math was not my forte going into college. Good thing it isn't turf/golf course management.
Isn't Mines in Golden? I lived in Bolder for a year when you were two years old. Beautiful place but expensive.
I got to research Mines a little more. Congrats BTW!

I thought Mines was in Golden. Sweet location. They have quite the curriculum. Very impressed. Sadly I'd be the guy in the Business and Economics classes (I have a BS in both along with a few others). Nice size classes, nice campus.
I'd say go to Boulder only IF you plan to do something outside of your ME major, due to the fact that CU is more widely known than Mines to potential employers outside ME industries down the road. If not, choose Mines ALL DAY LONG since companies actually sponsor Career Day.
Also, when you get to Mines, within the first month you are there, go to Career Services or whatever they call it, cross reference all their alumni in California who have graduated from Mines, familiarize yourself with them in order to get an internship with them in 2015 (unless you don't want to go back to CA) and possibly a job down the road.

Conner I'm glad to hear you are pursuing your college path. Myself I'm not an ME major although I'm sure some here are. My major is Information Systems, B.S. and it falls within our school of engineering ... Although it is not traditional EE, ME or CE. Either way I'm sure you be enjoy the experience in CO.
The only I would worry about (and it would apply to me as well) is driving on slick ice roads in the CO winters.
I enjoyed the business economics classes I took in college. Less business and more economics.
