4Running Daily's Build Thread

any leftovers laying around?? hehe

Speaking of that actually, I have some Icon 2.5's with extended reservoirs coming to my house in the next few days, these ones are for a 2nd gen Tacoma. Haven't decided what to do with them yet. So now I have Icon 2.5 piggyback reservoirs for an FJ, and Icon 2.5 extended reservoirs for a 2nd gen Tacoma. Both need to be rebuilt

Discount did such a crappy job installing my wheels a year ago that one of them came loose on the way to Joshua Tree and almost fell off.

Be sure to double check their work.

One mistake they make often is tightening the wheel with it on the ground and weight on it. I also doubt they follow the proper opposite bolt tightening method.

My discount has been pretty good to me. No bad experiences with mine.

I called up 4wheel parts to price out my tires, and they mentioned $89 for all 4 tires for their warranty that covers any damage for offroad, its free replacement for the first %50 of the life of the tire and then after that you would have to pay %10 of the cost. the guy also mentioned that discount doesnt cover offroad use at all. is that true? also they said they would mount 315/75r16s on my 7" wide rims and still honor the warranty.

if your selling a set let me know, i just might pull the trigger.

They're issuing citations for trespassing in my nearest 4WD trail, so now the closest thing to me is the desert which is an hour or so away at least.

Passenger rear, center of hub to fender, 23.75" with a full tank of gas

Just did mine.

With a full tank, tent up top, and a small amount of my recovery gear loaded I am at 24.75" Driver, and 25.5" Passenger.

Dang haha, mine is without gear, just my rear bumper and an 80 pound rear tire and a full tank of gear

Yeah... I think the Superflex are in my future. Also inquired about a 15" 650lb spring from Fabtech... Contacted Icon to see if they'd work for me. They're black! Ideally they'd allow me to run ZERO preload while maintaining ~2" of lift. We'll see.

With my measurements I forgot to include my 1/2" body lift... So it's actually 24.25" Driver, and 25" Passenger. Still up there a bit more than I want to be.

So with my tools, CBI hybrid with swing out and superflex I'm at about 23.5" each side. Not bad but loaded up im sure I will drop down to 23" or below and be bro leaning. I'm going to them some OME 10mm spacers in and see where I'm at. Ideally I'd like to be at 24-24.25" and 23.5" up front. Right now I'm only 23" up front.

I haven't measured my front, it'll be interesting to see what I'm at up front. My CV's are practically flat though, so I hope I'm around 23" or so

So these shocks are currently being rebuilt. Planning on mounting them outside the frame rail when they're done. I'm also currently working on redoing my retrofit. But progress is slow seeing as I'm working 6 days a week.

What happened with your retrofit?

Btw did you use OEM housings and adjustable plastic or the TYC parts?

I ask because I have had the TYC parts break on me, come loose, come apart etc.

By now I've got it all JB Welded down and I think I'm good but each trip brings new possibilities of something with my lights coming out of alignment.

TYC parts the first time, and they broke on me. Now I'm gonna do everything again and JB Weld it all in.
