4Running Daily's Build Thread

Like I said, I'm not very familiar with what settings to use when, however I am familiar with the vocab. So I will definitely try all of that out, hopefully tonight.

I have another lens but it's a lot more of a distance lens.

Thanks for the tips!

Thanks!
For sure man- I hope you're able to get back out tonight!

I forgot the focus. Set it to infinity, then bring it back just a tiny bit. Like 5 degrees maybe.

Focus proved to be very difficult. Also the clouds were not cooperating tonight, and I had way too many people driving by adding light to the shot.

Other than that your settings worked great!

Those are about as good as you'll get with the light pollution of the city- they look great!

Thanks very much for the help!

Trying to make a list of stuff I need to do over break. It keeps getting longer

Are you replacing the cv as a whole? And broke a pry bar, pics or it didn't happen.....

Swapping out my rock auto CV's for rebuilt OEM CV's.
I just got it out finally.

Here's the pry bar I broke the tip off of.

I then cut the end off of that pry bar and stuck it in a cheater.

Meet my new CV tool haha

I ran into a problem on a CV replacement on a Camry where it had rusted into the front diff. Took some Kroil (PB Blaster etc) sprayed it into the diff and the next day it popped out. It looked as if the car had been through some deep water for the fluid was a little watery.

I like using a molding pry bar to remove CVs. More surface area to work with....

Ok, you got it off. Invest in better tools.

Which cv is which? And have you got it back on the road since going back to oem cvs? What is the spring rate for your ads coils?

What do you mean which CV is which? Both the CV's pictured are rebuilt OEM. Yes sir I drove it around yesterday, but it is back in the garage today to be polished and waxed.

Spring rate on the ADS coilover is 650, but I would like to move down to 600.

The one on the left looked a little different, wanted to see if they were both oem or if it was a comparison.

At 650 does it still feel stiff even though the coils soak the road up pretty good? Any particular reasoning in wanting to drop down to 600?

One of them is missing a dust shield that I later installed.

650 is fine with the current valving, but I would like to switch to 600 and revalve it stiffer. A lighter coil will allow it to flex better at slow speeds
