4th Gen 4R Recall (LSC) just received

Have any of you guys received the attached letter from Toyota and had the work done? Interested in any negative consequences.

My vehicle is a 2008 Limited 6cyl.

It's been covered. My recall is that if you take your truck off-road you shouldn't do it. If you don't I guess it doesn't matter.

Usually when it comes to recalls, unless it has been an issue on my truck or it's a major safety issue I toss it. Like the pedal recall when I had my Tacoma, I never had any issues with it & my floor mat never interfered with it so I said F*** it. My 4runner has been nothing but perfect since I bought it & has 168K on it, not worried to much about recalls.

My wife and I both know that the small pedal on the right is the gas and the big one on the left is the gas (The setup is similar in Both my 4Runner and her Rav4), so we went ahead and filed it in the circular file (Trashcan).

I can see how you may benefit from this recall though, if you are one of those people who often forget what pedal does what or that turning the key counter-clockwise or holding down the start/stop button turns off your vehicle.

I will speak of personal experience only. I am one to take care of the service provided. I will say that shortly after, I decided to "test" the new response. There is what I have seen to be a more permissive allowance and did not have any issues. In short, I wheeled it hard and felt NO difference.

Ensure yourself of what you should do or don't when it comes to your vehicle, only you can answer that.

I felt insulted when Toyota told me that the "ran away acceleration" was caused by floor mat.

I'm no longer a fan or trust Toyota.

Feel insulted by the U.S. Legal system...... that is what allowed everyone to sue Toyota for being morons who did not know how to drive........ essentially the ones who forced Toyota to say "ahhh ok.... it was the floormats".
