4th Gen aftermarket bumper working with Shrockworks

Not to clutter up the ARB thread. We have been discussing getting a front bumper made for the 4th Gens by Shrockworks. They seem positive about doing it, if we are positive about buying it. We started a thread on toyota120.com to get a list of serious buyers. See

More details can be found there. They have done a lot of work for the XTerra guys, and the feedback I have received was extremely positive. Below are some pictures of the bumpers they make for the Xterra.

Hopefully we get enough interested to get the ball rolling. And oh yeah, we will need somebody in Houston, TX to go down to their shop for them to do the R&D measurements, etc.

Hey bulldog, I don't know if it is just me bit i see pictures of lttle red X's.

I don't live in Texas but I do want the bumper. Screw waiting around for ARB to *think* about whether they want to produce one or not. Their loss.

Unfortunately I can't put my name on the list yet as my wife and I are probably moving to Colorado Springs in the next 6 months so we'll need the cash but otherwise I would have.

Ok guys were are still a couple people short to get this project of the ground, don't let us miss out on a great opportunity to get some quality bumpers in production for the 4R.

I have scanned through the entire post on the other BB and like Xterra bumpers, but are any provisions going to be made so that the 4runner bumpers will have the option to transfer over the DRL, and fog lights. I have seen the other thread about the ARB bumper that someone was testing, and liked the look of it with the fog and running light combo.

The thing is the design requirements are not finalized yet. Nick from Shrockworks is currently looking into options for the lights. The point is that it really will dpend what can be economically done, but I'm sure something can be incorporated. The ARB deluxe bumper with the integrated foglight option is horribly expensive though compared to the one without it. On the 100 series Land Cruiser we are talking a difference of $1400 (with the lights) vs $1000.

Discussing all of this is good, however we are still short of a few serious people signing up. We need to give this project wings and input from people who have signed up will weight much more than those who didn't.
 
Sorry Bulldog-yota I missed the entire Toyota 120 discussion. I would be in 100% and put my credit card on the line accept for 2 things: 1) I am probably about to be stationed in Hawaii, and shipping would kill me. 2) If there was going to be a provision for the DRL/Fog light assy.
 
No prob. I think incorporating the stock light assemble will be a paint due to the curve it follows and also the fact that the 06 on does not have it. Aftermarket lights will probably be the best option for the DRL/Turn signal and fog lights.

I know there is a big market for these bumpers and it will be growing drastically over the next 6 years +. It is just a question of getting the ball rolling. In this case that is up to us.

There are a number of us who would like to utilize Shrockworks. This could be a great opportunity to have front/rear bumpers (tire carrier!), skids, sliders, and who knows what else made by another quality vendor.

It's all about options; the more vendors we support, the better variety of products we get.
