As many of you know, we're building a 4th Gen 4Runner for King of the Hammers. We're installing the cage right now and I need help with an airbag item.
When we stripped the interior, we unplugged the Side Curtain airbags. Once we did, the Airbag light came on.
When we removed the stock seats, we of course unplugged the airbag sensors in both Drivers and Passengers seats.
Question: Given the items above, is the entire Airbag System now disabled?
I will likely pull the Drivers Steering Wheel Airbag out before the race (it'll save us a little weight anyway). But I'm not sure how to pull the Passenger Airbag out. I haven't poked around above the glove box enough to even know how to get to it and am now 2,000 miles away.
If the system is now disabled, then I don't have to worry about it. I need to ask now as the roll cage is being built in that area in the coming days and if I need to do something with the Passenger Airbag, I probably need to do it now.
Thanks!
