Thanks again. This should be pretty simple. Basically me and my one buddy put the OME lift in, so I doubt it will be a problem, plus theres always a bit of beer available.:thumb3::beer::beer:

here is the write-up on the install:

i would order it as:
Kit D + HD + SE

Kit D = would be the typical kit, and you'd want to specify the amount of lift
HD = hardware upgrade
SE = steering shaft extension

I will be ordering mine soon. Should I also be getting the radiator drop brackets? I'm assuming yes.

i'm running the 1.25" BL with NO radiator drop bracket ... but you could get it just to be safe.

Hey guys, looking at putting in my body lift in the next week or two and was looking at this guide:

4Runner Body Lift Installation - Toyota 120 Platforms Forum

I saw this picture of this screw:

And was wondering if i need a special bit to remove. I havent actually taken a look at it on my rig yet, so I apologize if its easy to get out. Its cold and wet outside so im not in the mood to go look :baby:

No special tool needed. Just twist it off by hand

Good god......every time I look at the Roger Brown site it gives me a headache. It would be interesting to know how much business he has lost because of that train wreck....

He won't get my business as a result. Especially when I can very simply order a 1" BL kit from Toytec.

I suppose if you want more than a 1" BL then you're stuck? I'd never want more than that anyway though so it's no worry for me.

Body Lifts aren't super hard to make if you have access to a lathe and a drill press.

Bringing an old thread back to life. Are the BL pucks the same diameter for all of the mounting locations? Do people use hockey pucks for this purpose? Seems that one can simply purchase a round stock of UHMW of the correct diam, start cutting 1" or 1.25" slices and drill the holes. The steering column spacer looks to be a little bit of work by using an Alum spacer, drill/tap/etc.

Most of the available companies use UHMW material, so yes you could easily do that. One thing Roger Brown does is offer bigger diameter blocks, and I would really recommend this. So get a block that is as big, or slightly bigger than the body mount bushings. The body mount all the way to the front under the radiator is slightly smaller than the rest of the body mounts, but bolt is the same iirc.
You will also need new bolts, nuts, washers that are longer, might as well go grade 8 that are 1/2" in size. I selected this option when ordering mine from RB. Next, you will either need to make/buy radiator drop brackets or you could trim your lower shroud so the fan blade doesn't hit it. The steering spacer is the worst part. You will only need it if going 1.5" or higher and I really would suggest buying it as it is a serious pita unless you have mad machining skillz.
Now, add all that up and tell me what you are really saving? Unless you get one helluva deal on UHMW and parts I doubt you'll be saving much, especially after all the cutting, drilling, running around for parts and random items. I bought my 2.5" with big blocks, heavy duty hardware, radiator drop bracket and steering spacer for ~$300 from RB.

The Pucks are not the same size, there's 3 different diameters for the 4 pairs of pucks (5 if you have 3rd row seat but I don't so I am not sure what diameter those are.)

The spacer isn't horribly difficult to make, but it is trickier if you don't have a lathe and a drill press/mill.

I used to have a picture of the measurements and such I drew up for my body lift kit... but for the life of me I can't find it...

Possibly, but the whole body and everything attached to it is riding on it... Literally, I'd Err on overkill myself. Grade 5 may do. I don't remember what my bolts were.
