It's all goodNinjaOne
I was wrong, stock shafts are 30 spline so what you posted above makes sense to me now.
I know 8" properly setup is a huge improvement, but I know of several failures even post gears/lockers and careful wheeling from guys on 35s. It's not bulletproof or dependable once you start pushing your tire sizes up. Most of those failures are FJs, 2UZ pushes even more power to the rear.Lol you sound like you've repeated a lot of this in your head a few times and now you know the pros and cons of every major design.
If you guys wait until I break my gears I'll tell you what the 8.0 can really handle with the ARB carriers/lockers and 35's
I started going down this rabbit hole once. Pretty sure I'm happier just saying screw it and picking the easiest option. Everything has weaknesses where something else has strengths. I'll upgrade when I trash the axle housing and have a better reason.
If it weren't my daily, I'd care less, but I want to be able to wheel and drive it home afterwards and minimize the number of trail spares I need to carry.
