4th gen CV Axle seal leak?

Hello everyone,

Just purchased a 07 4runner and found a cracked cv axle driver side boot. The dealer replaced the cv axle and I drove home. The following day I found a micro drip from the axle coming out of the diff. I am assuming its the seal but it was dry until they replaced the axle. Is the seal bad or maby something with the axle? Its a 3 hours drive for me back to the dealer. I would prefer to try to repair myself. Any advice would be appreciated.

Common when replacing CV in slightly higher millage cars. Seal is not expensive, pull the CV back out to install it.

Thanks. I get the impression the dealer never replaced the seal. Just the axle.
