4th Gen front bumpers

I'm looking for options on replacing my front bumper on my 04 T4R. On my way home from a weekend ski trip a huge tree limb snapped off right in front of me due to very high winds here on the east coast. I tried my best to avoid it but it took out my front bumper cover. I actually feel lucky that I wasn't going faster or it could have caused more damage! The limb was 10" in diam. and went across the whole road! It was a damn sh!#%y experience. I don't know how much an oem cover is worth and I would rather have something stronger on there. All opinions and options will be greatly appreciated!

With or without the loops, clevis hooks, winch, etc, it's a good looking front end and extremely functional. Cheaper than replacing the front clip too I believe.

Front Bumper Cover

Had my front bumper cover replaced last year when I slid into a mailbox (damn Michelin Cross Terrains!). Cost me $600 to have a new one painted and installed. I believe that the unpainted bumper itself sells for $250 or so.

Boston Kevin gave you some good advice. Check out the Shrockworks bumper - very nice.

I will probably get one in the future if I keep my 4Runner (vs. buying a new one).

So, I'm seriously considering ordering the shrockworks front bumper and i'm looking for opinions on what color powder coating to get, if any. Or should I have it painted to match my 4runner (titanium metallic)? Also will it look ok on my 4runner if I don't lift it and get bigger tires right away?

expect front to sag due to weight. You need aftermarket shocks to compensate for the added weight.

I got a TJM-15 on my 3rd gen. I have had it on my stock suspension for about 5 months now with no problems. I am very satisfied having my new bumper on my stock suspension. I am going to be getting a lift here in a month or so. I purchased my TJM before Shockrocks offered front bumpers for 3rd gens. I just wish I would of gotten hit after shockrocks started making bumpers for my 3rd gen. IMO I would get the shockrocks bumper and powder coat it black or custom painted to match you ride.

Thanks for the replies and advise on the bumper. I am going to order the shrockworks bumper. I like the way it's built and it looks great. I will also be ordering a lift and new tires to complete the package. I was thinking of going with the 3'' front 2'' rear conrfed due to having Xreas suspension and wanting to retain it. Anyone have advise on this lift compared to any others available? I will only be doing moderate ocasional offroading.
