4th Gen JBL Amp Swap?

Hi All,

Has anyone swapped out their stock NON-JBL amp with the JBL amp that comes standard in some 4th gen models? I know the JBL amp is a little larger and probably won't find in the stock non-JBL location, but I'm mainly curious to know if it's a straight plug and play.

I currently have Focal speakers all around running off of an aftermarket deck, so it's obviously underpowered. A proper 4 channel amp would be best, but I'd rather keep things simple, which is why I'm asking about the JBL.

keeping things simple, since you have a non jbl system, and want to amp the speakers, i buy a good 4 channel amp and have it mounted under the front seats, and run some good rcas and power wire, only use ofc if you can and its only a little bit more from cca, if you do cca now, you will be limited on upgrades in the future, cca has a lower amp rating on the wire, i think it likes 80 amps i would do up to at 17 feet, vs 150 with ofc. also get some 9 conductor speed wire and feed it with the rcas. there is also a good ground point under the carpet , right behind the bar where the front of the seats are bolted too, i always undo the stock and grind the paint off to bare shiny metal.

I actually replaced my jbl with a Kicker and let me tell you, it was a pain.. But I will say having it in the stock location is a lot cleaner imho..
