Im on 255/85/17 35's and still on OEM gears with a 05 v8.
It required 3 inch life in my sig and a good amount of chopping and flexing while offroading it still rubs.
My thoughts,
I am daily driving it and have loaded it up and road-tripped it..
It still has enough pep to get it moving and cruise down the highway and my gas mileage did not suffer noticeably vs the 285/75's I had before. I do feel extra cautious about the reliability of the stock rear if wheeling it now, since it's basically only a matter of time or situation to cause it to pop.
On the other hand, The truck would greatly benefit from upgrading gears in both driveability and peace of mind. As long as you can part with a few grand.
also, I wouldn't even consider this if I had a v6, the low-end torque of the 2uz is what makes it manageable. If your on the fence to "Just send it" with 35s and v6 my suggestion would be stay 33s.
