4th Gen No Lift 18" Wheels - Tire Size Question

Yes, I searched :hello:Gaterose and I have been exchanging notes on a possible wheel/tire setup and wanted to throw it open for folks to chime in. Here is the deal:

Truck: 08 4x4 with FJ coils and Billies set at 0.85. No mud flaps and fender liners moved forward. Spidertrax 1.25 all around. Currently running 265x70x17 Grabber AT2s with zero rubbing or issues of any kind.

Wheels/Tires I am looking at: 275x65x18 or 285x65x18. AT tread pattern - so Duratracs or Grabber AT2s or similar.

Question: Can it be done with current setup (aka 1" lift) ???????? Will it rub???????

I do know you can fit 265 65 18 on stock rims with some tires.

Not to get off topic but how do you like the Grabber AT2s I was looking at getting new tires here shortly. How many miles do you have on them and would you get them again?

Even with a lift I had to remove my front flappers and move fender liner up some and trim the inner part of front bumper. With 285 65 18

Thanks gshadow. I did see your post in the thread above. In fact, that's what confused me. That thread's OP is asking if they will fit without a lift and you seem to say yes, though you have a lift.

But I see it won't fit now, thanks for clarifying.

Not to get off topic but how do you like the Grabber AT2s I was looking at getting new tires here shortly. How many miles do you have on them and would you get them again?

I like the Grabbers. They look very aggressive, road noise is not bad at all and tread life is really good (have 30k on them and they look like they will go another 15-20k). Been through a lot in them and never had a flat.

They are not *that* good in the snow. But then again, in New England snow, not much is *that* good.

As the resident poster child for duratracs, i'm going to suggest them. You already have the GG ATII get something new on another note, rubbing will be worse with the spider trax, you may have to do some minor trimming

I have 275x60r18 with a 1.5 spacer in the front, and I have rubbing on both sides. Just slight rubber-on-plastic on the wheel well. Only rubs when I'm backing up and cranking the wheel.
