Hello!

Happy to have found this forum, my car was totaled a few months back (I’m good, but car was toast). I’ve always loved 4Runners so I think it’s time I joined the club, and have been looking for the last couple months.

I’m looking for a reliable 4WD for my lifestyle climbing, hiking, camping, etc.

My budget is 13K (Ideally less)

Looking for either V6 or V8 4th gen, it’s no frame rust. Trim level is not super important to me, but something that is relatively clean. Hopefully 160K miles or less.

I live in Los Angeles, but am willing to travel to pick up the right truck.

Any buying tips/leads is much appreciated. Thanks!

Go to CRAIGSLIST.ORG and search there in LA County, Ventura County and Orange County. Filter on "owner" and avoid the small dealer-gougers

One hour SOUTH of Seattle.

Grey seat belt set, all 4. $50

Seattle area LOCALS: Tan cloth seat set, all seats an head rests. Great shape, had someone wanting to drive from Vegas for them but nothing local. $250 for the set. Or $125 each front set an $100 for the seat broken up.

Limited (granite) door below heater control. These are VERY hard to find without broken doors, lost, non-inventoried, ect. I swapped to this trim an ended up with 2 of these doors. If you're interested, selling for what I paid, $45. They're $200+ at the dealer if not.


FJ TRD caps that are used for SCS wheels, the Mark 8 style, ect. $25 plus shipping, caps are free of dents (many get during shipping) or additional damage.

Dual climate control heater control panel. I have extra WHITE LED's you can have with it for free. $30 plus shipping

This is why I HATE forums like this. Mine has a broken clip. And I've been fine with it. But then, this guy says he has one for sale.

Now, I would have never thought to buy a new one, Especially at $200, not even at $45. But then I think, I've actually NEVER seen one offered for sale. And I've always said, if I find one, I'd buy it. So now I'm thinking, maybe I should just bite the bullet and buy the $45 dumb ass door thingy. The only thing in there is the registration and insurance papers.

Hmmm, 1st world problems.

I have a set of 4 tires (265/65R17) and sport edition wheels off a 2004 Toyota 4Runner. There is no TPSM or valve stem (used on new tires and wheels).

The tires are in good condition at 11/64 of an inch (close to 6/32).

Yeah, I hear you. I am VERY persistent and it took me a long time to find one for sale. If someone buys it, great, if not, I'm keeping both cause I'll never put in the effort to find one again.
