4th Gen specific for sale thread

Stock 8" Sub Good Condition

I have a stock 8" sub that I pulled out when I redid the sound system. Worked fine when I pulled it out and its been sitting on a shelf since. If anyone blew theirs and wants a replacement lmk!

Can I fit it into my 2006 SR5? I got a new head unit and I realize I would have to run wires to it

It will fit if you have the whole subwoofer enclosure. I'm pretty sure he was just referring to the woofer itself as he replaced his with an aftermarket one likely.

That being said, I do have a whole enclosure (no amp) with the factory woofer that would be a good candidate to install an aftermarket woofer into and use an aftermarket amp to drive it.

Just an FYI, I'm not certain but I wouldn't think the SR5 has all the wiring for the sub woofer, so he would need to run all the wiring to the back if that's indeed the case, also I think to use the sub woofer enclosure he would most likely need the entire panel it installs in, but again I'm not sure, I have a Limited so I don't know how the SR5 panel is and if it will work with the enclosure or if there's wiring in the SR5 for the sub woofer.

I've been in that well, no wiring. It's a storage compartment. He would have to gut it completely and either cut the panel to somehow fit or buy the correct panel

That’s my intention of selling this one lol. I also was surprised but I was seeing $400 and up on eBay, but like I said I’m definitely open to best offer...trying to cut a deal to another 4Runner owner

I don't. but can provide the following pointers.

1) be patient (I made getting a full FSM + electrical book a condition of sale when I bought my 2006 from the dealership ~2 years ago. I think it's fair to say that the used car sales manager will NEVER agree to that again. It took him nearly a year and ~$1k to get me the set.)

There are a number of Repair manual sites on teh Internet that I found. most seam to be different front ends to the same warehouse. None were any help when we were looking for my set.

Diyrepairmanuals.com took $ but never delivered. Last I knew the dealership was fighting to get their $700 back.
