4th Gens in the snow

Sounded like Chevron had a 50/50 water gas mix...State: Bad fuel no longer sold at Redmond Chevron - KTVZ

Thing is we had two cars from a Bend Chevron have the same issues (the third was from Redmond Chevron). I'm wondering if the 50/50 mix is actually 50% Ethanol which would mean someone delivered E85 (apparently in the US E85 means it's anywhere between 50~83% Ethanol) to those stations.

So I believe the issue of high water content being isolated to the Redmond Chevron, I still think they got a batch of high Ethanol fuel in their non-E85 tank (the fuel we pulled out of the 3 vehicles at my dealership all smelled very alcoholy).

Cheapest/easiest way to test Ethanol content is to just stick a measured amount in a container and add some water and see how much separates. So the tech they quoted in the news report was probably doing that.

Got our first dusting today. General Grabbers did great and only broke loose when I wanted em to even though the fronts are getting a bit low...

The tires on the riced out Civic beside me in an intersection....that oversteered and nearly t-boned me, however, should be looked at. Either that or the dumba$$ driver pulled his ebrake to try to drift, cuz I don't think that car's natural tendency is to oversteer....

Either way, glad I was in 4WD, cuz I was able to floor it and get out of his way before that idiot slid into me.

Well we don't get much snow (compared to some parts) but love to take advantage of it when we do! I'm always happy when I can get a day or two of riding in before New Years - especially with fresh snow all day :banana:

This was back on February 3rd 2013 in Boston when they shut the whole city down. As soon as they said it was ok to go out, my buddy and I did just that and had a blast. It was bone stock back then including the OEM Michelin Cross Terrains, mostly because I was still in college!!

Dirty galactic grey. I just washed it before the trip and then 600 miles later we had hit lots of salt, snow, then cindered dirt roads. Plus my HTC 10 takes pretty decent "HDR" shots if you let it take the extra time so maybe you're just seeing the color changes from that.

I would bet money it's on the secondary air injection system. Check out the thread by @slyfox for a relay bypass.

I read up on the bypass and I just didn't feel like that was the right thing to do. While I completely understand it and think its a great find, I'm fixing it right.

While I appreciate the good intentions, didn't the system leave you stranded? No offense but if you're trying to protect the "environment" you drive a lifted truck that gets 12MPG.
