4WD electronic shifter problem

My 2018 SR5 Premium 4WD electronic shifter is acting funny. It is getting difficult to shift from 2wd to H4WD and to L4WD and back to 2WD. Any thoughts as to what is happening or might be the problem. Only have 50,000 miles on the truck.
Is this a common problem and what is a ballpark cost to repair?

physically getting difficult or the vehicle is not responding to your selections?

good news, you can pop that consol and pop the switch out and inspect. maybe wiring is getting in the way or something. also you can buy a knob from ebay used if it's the knob and see if that fixes it. I've never heard of the selector switch going bad

this is a repair that can best be DIY or you will pay $$$. worst case just buy a new selector from the dealer if you have to. don't pay the labor to diagnose. it's a contained switch. anything that physically can go wrong with the switch is contained in the switch
