4wd indicator - 96 5spd

The '99 setup is a bit different than the 96-98 setup, but it covers it fairly well. Some wire colors and connectors changed.



That connection to the ABS, ECU and Locker computer are all just 'signals' to change their operation. Even if the ABS wasn't working, it wouldn't affect the dash light.

quick Check

The part of the harness that plugs into the 4wd switch on the front diff is about 6" long or so and then it plugs into the main harness. check to make sure you have a good connection there. you can also put a jumper in the harness plug at the diff switch and check to see if the light works. could also check for continuity of the switch as well. might save some effort digging through the harness for a short, etc.

I checked connections on that pigtail and all seems right but next i’m going to start testing for continuity and signal. Also going to put the ABS fuse back in just incase, need to figure that out anyhow.
