Hey guys, I tried my 4wd (4h)on my 2011sr5 , I went on a dirt road for 10 miles at 14mph to try it out . When I got back to the parking lot I stopped put it in neutral and into 2h. It would not engage into 2 high I tried going 5mph and the manual shifter flopped back down into 4h. I tried the same procedure but went in reverse and it went back to 2wd. Anyone have thoughts or issues like that

When you got to the pavement did you turn before trying to go to 2wd? That may cause binding and going into reverse will release the tension and allow you to shift.

Next time shift back to 2wd while moving just before getting to the pavement or if on pavement continue straight when shifting to 2wd.

I bound mine up real good crossing some small rocks in 4wd to get back to the highway and had to turn to do it. Backed up a little and it was able to go to 2wd.

I had something similar happen for the first time today while on a not very slick dirt road. I had it in 4wd just to lube the tcase.

Wiggle the shifter while pushing it forward and you should feel it slip back to 2h. The shiftier will thunk very slightly sometimes.

I can clearly feel it engage in the shifter when I go into 4h from 2h but not the same feeling going from 4h to 2h
