4WD Toyota Magazine article upsets me.

When I was at the local Toyota shop yesterday (because of my low-pressure warning light -- See other thread), I was parked next to a new 2006 Highlander Limited. That little blue beauty was $33,000+ and was only a two-wheel dive model.

I suppose they're still selling like hotcakes, even though they seem to cost more than the 4Runner. My girlfriend has a 2002 Highlander and likes it better than my 4Runner because she thinks it is less "trucky." But hey, trucky is good!

Now that her kids have grown older and two of them are now driving, she wants to 'downsize' into a Camry next year. Why not? A Highlander is not much more than a tall Camry anyway.

It seems as though most people are happy with their Toyotas and the better resale value tends to reflect that. I bet there are not too many folks who have forsaken their Toyotas for GM or Ford products, huh?

Personally, I dont care what they wrote about 4th gens in that little section (probably not everyone read that entire thing anyways). Also, 4th gens are the most expenisve Runner that have come out yet, but did anyone notice how we have the most ground clearance (i think).

Just show them out on the trails how we do and our performence will speak for itself


BTW I think its a great magazine, and I hope that yall get to putting it out everymonth instead of every 2

I think this new magazine has the potential to be a very good read. And yes, I read the articles.

The difficulty with publishing a magazine is good content. With good content, a magazine can get the subscribers necessary to sell ads. (My family publishes a number of magazines and annuals.)

I subscribe to over 20 US & UK magazines, and am happy to have 4WD Toyota Owners Magazine on my reading pile. I'll give it a couple years to see how it matures. In the past, I tried a couple of the US off-road magazines. I found the articles shallow, focused on adolescent male readers. One UK magazine I find interesting is 4Drive Magazine.

I thought that the ground clearance dropped on the 4th Gen compared to the 3rd Gen by about 2"?

i think so too. maybe he was comparing it to other makes instead of earlier gens.
