4x4 stalled motor?

Story goes

My driveway is 210 feet straight up, we got about 5 inches snow this evening and when I got home I tried backing up the driveway into garage. Got about 2/3 way and it wouldnt make it so it started sliding down the hill while I was hammering the hell out of it in reverse, then the motor stalled and I had to put in park and restart (while sliding down hill with no brakes steering or power) Why would it stall like that?

2005 v6 sport 4x4
It was in 4 high and center diff locked

what angle would you say your driveway is at?

fuel level?

my guess would be the pump couldn't reach any fuel? ??

Oh yeah forgot to mention its all concrete

Not sure of angle first half less than 15% 2nd half well over 15%the parking brake in my tacoma wont hold on the hill (5spd manual)

I've done this several times before and usually it spins its way to the top

I'm not to happy with it right now, I dont feel it should stall like that it slid 100 ft or so in park while i was trying to start it

Reason I back up is because you dont want to back down in the morining and no way to make the turn at the top with snow on

That's a smart move, took me and my friend 30 minutes to get out of his cabin this weekend on an icy driveway. Driveway was mostly covered in ice and only one tire would get traction most of the way. I just watched my wheels spin and slide a few inches after I stopped. Driveway is about 10 ft high from street level and about three car lengths.

Took me about 15 minutes to back down the driveway since I was parked perpendicular to the driveway and the tail kept sliding towards a tree. Good thing for this forum and the info presented about ATRAC, otherwise I would've freaked out when it was making all it's chatter and crazy sounds. Took my friend about 10 minutes to get his WRX out and he was parked straight on top of the driveway and kept sliding sideways when his wheels got on ice. Last weekend he said his car started to slide back after he parked on top of the driveway. The two gals that stayed with us parked next to me and didn't block their wheels and their car slid back 5-6 feet making it that much tougher for me to get out. My other friend couldn't make it up the same driveway with his tC and chains.

I couldn't get up the driveway in 2WD the night before, switched to 4H and still couldn't move, had to back down a bit an start with rolling momentum. Glad I have 4WD.

Not sure of the reason, but it happens. Does it have something to do with torque converter??

On our off-roading trips, it has happen to every vehicle, including mine, while trying to go up a steep hill.

I had it once or twice...the last one: reversing to go back down a hill to try a different angle...due to hill being very steep, my truck went too fast down...push on the brakes, but my G was still sliding down (too damn heavy!)...once it was stopped, i put the tranny back into DRIVE and pushed on the gas pedal (remember, i a still on the steep hill)...i may have pushed too soon (idiot!) and my G stalled...restarted it and drove up.

I was wrong earlier it only had a 1/2 tank of gas, maybe that had something todo with it?

On my 2nd attempt I hit in drive 4high and diff lock vsc off it started sliding down backwards while spinning forwards never stalled. Missed my tacoma parked at the bottom by foot or less That would have been hard to explain to the insurance company

I went out today and played it done really well, with diff locked vsc off it will sling snow like a sob

I think with a good set of tires it would have done alot better
