Thank you for putting this together... heck of a lot of pages to go through, but very helpful.
Ok then, I've got a '16 with XREAS which are coming to end of life and asking for feedback from people who've gone full replacement (not just XREAS users, any will do) about their experience.
I am not looking to lift for extra travel or clearance, I will ride "normal" sized tires, and this is largely a DD. I understand I can use OEM arms up to around 2" or so, but after that will need new UCA/LCA.
My quick thoughts based on past research, but interested in your experiences:
XREAS / nope, not worth the cost to install new or effort to install takeoffs
5100s / leaning away from this because I like the "posh" ride of the XREAS and don't want to get into stiff/body roll rides, but will consider
6112 & 5160 / looks like a good combo with decent miles... good experience for those who are riding these?
King OEM / I'd really like these but will probably have to install myself to save costs... and it's probably overkill
OME / these look fine but all require lifting and new control arms?
OME BP-51 / for this price I can get Kings...
Other suggestions?
*I know Dobinsons has some options, but these look comparable to Bilstein or OME offerings, although I am less familiar.
Greetings gents, I am new to the 4Runner world and this site, and as such, figured this would be a good place to drop this as I do not have enough posts to start my own thread.
I am due to take possession of my new MGM TRD Pro next week. I am coming over from an Off Road Xterra. I have been a member here for a few months and have been quietly learning so as to avoid asking easily answerable questions.
With that in mind, I have a probably easily answered question about lift pricing.
I am in CO and my dealership has an off road shop in house. They offer various packages to be rolled into the OTD price of the truck.
My question is this: is $4850 a fair price for: Westcott designs 2/1.25 spring perch lift, 285/70/17 KO2s, subsequent spare tire bracket alteration to fit a full spare (so five tires in total) and all labor? Just looking to see what you guys think before I pull the trigger. Thank you in advance.
-Cheers

I’m glad you mentioned this for those with KDSS. I heard that it may rub on the trac bar?285/70-17 fits in the stock spare location with no modifcations needed (i have KDSS as well so theres even less room)
The Wescott is an nice setup for the stock Pros with the Fox shocks. This will be fine as long as you don’t add too much weight to your truck.Alright, so, I feel pretty good about the end product I am looking at after meeting the accessories manager in person. He had another Pro in his shop with the same Westcott setup as well as a few other mods. We took it out for a spin and it drove very well.
I concede that I will be over paying but all of the installs/work is going to be rolled under the factory warranty with the truck itself. Additionally, they are going to give me a ceramic 15% tint all the way around and a military discount.
I spend a large portion of my time away from home, so having all of this done under one roof and at the same time saves me a huge amount of time down the road.
If anyone is running 1.5” front and 1” rear spacer kit on a 5th gen LE with aftermarket wheels/tires would you mind shooting me a message? Id like to ask about tire size, offset and how much trimming was needed. Thanks in advance, I have been trying to find this for a while on the forum and can’t.
Hi all,
Since then, I've moved to the mountains (my couch is at 8900ft) and I added a bunch of weight. The rear is sagging just a tad and I'm on crappy pot holed, washboard fire roads 75% of the time.
But, I still have to drive a very windy asphalt road 20 miles to and from work.
I am aired down to 28psi with load E K02s, which I know are stiff and heavy, but I love them otherwise. I'm not comfortable going lower with the work drive, but airing up and down all the time would drive me nuts.
Is there a setup that would deal with the washboards better (I would assume a remote reservoir setup)?
Thanks!
