5th Gen 4Runner REAR Bumper

When is one of the sponsors or some other manufacturer going to step up to the plate and offer a decent rear bumper for the 2010-2011 Toyota 4Runner? I vote for a swing-out tire carrier and options that would include a ladder and/or Hi-Lift winch mount. Perhaps a show of interest from people here would motivate them.

Cheers,
Greg

Why don't you go custom? That way you get exactly what you want...

Re: Rear Bumper

It seems so far the only option is custom. It such a small market for a company to consider a mass production ( my 2 cents). I contacted ARB just to see if they would ever consider building and selling a rear bumper for the 5th Gen. (like the fj cruiser). They said they have nothing in the works or in mind for the future for the 4runner.

I want one and I think its time to find a skilled welder!

Here are few I have seen so far, there are other out there:

I'm glad you posted another pic of your bumper- I had forgotten just how awesome it looked! :)

What about Budbuilt?

My friend saw Gadget's URD TE 4runner at FJ summit and said the front/ rear bumpers were awesome. I've read on the forum they are Budbuilts, but I don't see them on the Budbuilt website. Maybe a one-off job?

I already have a front bumper and sliders ordered from SW, but since they don't yet have a finalized design on the rear bumper, I hazard to guess when that may be available. I could always wait and see what they will come up with, but I'm also curious if any other designs of merit (as I'm sure the SW will be nice) will materialize before theirs does.

Cheers,
Greg

@BFLAN - What type of weld did you use for your bumber, and about how much was your supplies cost?

I have a Lincoln Electric MIG.

I didn't keep track but I would say it was around $200 worth of steel. The tire carrier is going to cost a little money as well. The spindles are $80, and I have two of them, the latches were about $35 a piece, two of those again. And I need to buy more steel to finish the tire carrier and gerry can holder. So when it is all said and done, prob have about $500 with materials.
