5th gen Colorado eye candy

I recently took a trip to Ouray with a couple of friends and ht all the trails. We got a ton of cool photos, so I figured i would post some of the better ones here. I'm going to slowly roll them out (like 1 or 2 a day). It was a great trip and the trucks performed flawlessly and looked good doing it ;-)

I stayed on the trail. The one pic in the grass was at a campsite. You guys.... Get off your high horses. I left the place with no trace of me being there. I'm not that guy.

Yes he made it and yes it was the wall at P Gulch.

We actually hit that trail twice. The first time it was raining and hailing when we got to the wall. I somehow made it (had to use my front locker and air down pretty low). I had to give him a little tug up that day. The second time was when the picture was taken (pretty dry) and we both made it with ease. I would say it requires a rear locker, but it can be done with open diffs if it is dry and you use a little momentum and hit the right line.

On the second day we had another 5th gen TRD Pro with us (it did have lift, bumpers...) and he almost made it, but had to be winched up a little towards the top.

The easiest line is to run you rear passenger tire right up the edge of that notch you see under the truck. You sort of point left and then turn passenger as you get to the top. I think we had to back him up a little from where that pic was taken to get the right line. If you don't hit it right.. the back tire will slip in and turn you the wrong way.

What else did you run? I thought I saw the drift on Imogene there... I want to go do Black Bear in my 4Runner. I've done it in my old jeep a couple time, neat trail!!

Ran just about everything... Black bear was easy and totally worth it. I highly recommend it if you have decent experience/confidence behind the wheel. A stock truck could do it with no issues. It's more like a dirt road with some very tight turns that require a few point turns. The steps are the only thing that might make you pucker for a second and even that was not much. Just get out and walk that part first. The switchback turns might also require someone to get out and spot you, but it is not bad at all.

Pic attached is from the steps. The only thing on the trail that is anything to speak of in terms of a challenge and it is really nothing. Pretty much go down the center in LO and be gradual on the brakes and you really can't screw it up if you are a sane person with basic off-road driving instincts.

Looks like you had a good time. My favorite line is to the left of the crack (top of the roof in the photo where the two people are standing). Haven't done it in the 5th Gen but I have taken my pig of a 100-series up there.

I almost tried that line the second time. The first time it was way too slick on that side, but that did seem like a decent choice if it was dry.

That looks like you are high on a pass trail-- probably Imogene. That is not part of the trail.
