5th Gen Forum Problem

What does this even mean? Because someone bought a Pro and is excited they got it so they post a thread about it asking questions so you feel the need to shit on them as hard as possible while bringing your douche canoe minions in to rain more fire down?

Really welcoming place this is and I'm sure will attach future members...

Apparently in another forum, green font is used for sarcasm because sometimes it's hard to read as sarcasm in black and white. :wow:
Have been on forums for 10 years and this is news to me.

Have to go do my 3rd WOD today and then to Starbucks later ;) Found my white Oakleys as well so this is going to be a great day

Nah I'll just sit here on top of my Yeti filled with Starbucks shots in my Rogue shorts, cut off sleeve tee, flip flops and white Oakleys while listening to Green Day

Just my 2 cents......It's not hard to see that each side thinks the other is in some way attacking them for whatever reasons in many of these threads gone wrong. Neither side is right and both could afford to relax a little bit more.

The one major difference I see on this site compared to the Tundra Talk site is the lack of organization of the threads, which I think is a starting point for many of these arguments.

There should be threads for Interior, Exterior, Performance and then General Discussions for starters and not limited to. They also have it to where you have to a certain amount of posts that are required before threads can be started by newb's. (It forces them to search more and not start a thread for an old topic) Hell, they even have clubs for the different colors they offer. Threads that are in the General Discussions section are more tolerable because you can expect more sarcasm and jabbing than in a thread where you are trying to find mechanical advice for issues etc. Anyhow, it's just my opinion and well we all know that saying to. :hatsoff:

I think we should take for granted some people haven't lived on forums forever and are actually asking. Maybe a sticky explaining the google link etc labeled "Read first"

But, also keep in mind people are generally good and don't mean to ruffle feathers. We need to foster growth instead of pushing good people away.

I haven't totally got to the bottom of it, but the FireFox addons "Ghostery", "Ad Block Pro", and/or "uBlock Origin" can screw up the google search feature. If you run them, you have to turn them off.

Another way is to solve the problem is use Google Advanced search, located here:
https://www.google.com/advanced_search

A third way it to just go to google, type in what you are searching for, then add in "site:toyota-4runner.org" without the quotes.

but you have to type in correctly or it won't work.

On reddit and Ars Technica they use /s to denote sarcasm. Sometimes. Other times its fun to lay some bombs and see who trips on them.

I just type in 5th gen 4Runner in front of everything. Hasn't failed me yet, and always brings me back here.
