5th Gen Forum Problem

I gotta chime in, and please feel free to skip as I am new here. I was co founder of a club for a certain make and our forum started up around 2002. Had a great group of people on there, made a lot of life-long friends and could break eachother's balls non-stop without whining. But fast forward to today and I am nowhere to be found on that board because of all of the whiny, PC horseshit that seems to come with any club's growth.

Newbies gotta show respect. When they don't, I say no holds barred.
welcome to T4R.org!

One problem I see with the 5th Gen forum is that there are not links for 2013, 2014, or 2015 models. Yet all other years (even in non-5th gen forums) have a link!

I read the first two pages, been sitting on the toilet for too long and my legs are going numb...but I want to point out that we had a non-official admin a while back, eddiebxxx (forgot how many x's). He was a super nice guy who responded very fast to newb questions. I don't know what happened to him but this forum needs him. I hope everything is okay with the guy. Doesn't seem like he would leave without saying goodbye.
i've been too afraid to ask what happened to eddiebx
i hope he's ok.

I would say there are minute differences between the 2010-2013. So not a huge reason to separate them. Although I do see a reason to have a sticky with model differences for each year. 1engineer has a great write-up on the 2015 model year differences.

Me too. He was a great member. We used to pm time-to-time. He last posted on 5-10-14, and just dropped off without a word. No idea. Maybe someone knows.

I had pm'd him many times a few months prior to that and there was no indication of anything wrong. I have tried repeatedly to contact him to no avail. Yes he was one of the nicest around. Great guy.

So, I took my boy to the park the other day with his two cousins (ages 2-5) and of course they wanted to go down the 'big boy' slide. The problem was, there was a group of big boys at the bottom throwing wood chips in their faces. They came complaining to me and I told them "either do something about it or go play on another slide" - it was a big park. I hope this helps. Either way, back to my bourbon...

New member found the right thread!!

Finally. I'm very new here. After joining a few weeks ago, this thread tells me everything I wanted to know about this community. This has been enlightening. Every forum should have a sticky of a thread like this one. Now, I may continue with some understanding.

Last call.

This thread has had 170+ responses and 5K views. No moderators have checked it? Even though there have been repeated calls for acknowledgement?

Oh well guys, I tried. To all the guys who have pm'd me and told me you contacted admin to volunteer to be moderator: I think every one of you would do a great job. Right now the forum is quiet and well behaved. Hopefully it will stay that way for awhile but all it takes is one stupid post....

Also thanks for the "likes" in the original post. I think it validates this premise to the moderators and admin that we understand the dynamics of our little section and the majority of us want to have it run smoothly. Appreciate everyone's thoughts as well.

You checked the Audi forum's diesel section lately? Bet that's a hoot.

He wouldn't know because he spends all his time in their off road section. Today's hot topic: button down or polo shirt when driving on roads without a passing zone. It's getting pretty heated there as well.
