5th gen lower ball joint write up

I replaced my LCA’s back in the spring, I went OE. Sawzalling out all the seized bolts was required but otherwise it’s easy. I was generous with the anti seize during reassembly.

I just inspected mine after some popping noises... and no bueno.

:(

A lower control arm with bushings and ball joint is $331 (online price) at Camelback Toyota. Price has dropped from $500 as cited earlier. If you elect to buy after market, what brand would you buy?

Not bad, I have used Camelbak good bit for parts. I do have KDSS so would need that version. I would not get aftermarket, I have no need and the arms on there now are still good after 210,000 miles. Ball joints don't have any play and bushings still fine. If I replace it will only be for a preemptive strike.

I replaced my LCAs with the bushings at around 90,000 miles because they were corroded to hell and frozen up.

I also went the OEM route.

Check yer sway bar bushings and end links , they are known clunkers , put hand on end link/ sway bar t and get someone to rock vehicle side to side , you will feel it if they are gone

To do that, I would have to reinstall it first. ;)
