not the same... as a RWD 4Runner? Both a FWD and AWD highlander will be more capable than a RWD 4Runner, but if 2WD is okay with you i have no idea why performance is an issue.

maybe it's a macho thing, but the Highlander just says "soccer mom".
regardless, been in them, never cared for it.

and why wouldn't I come to a 4runner forum for pricing of what others have paid? that's what these forums are for.
nada and kbb say I should be able to sell my 350z for $4,000 - $4,500 but if you keep up with real world Z pricing on the Z forums people are still getting $7,000 for their Z's.

It wasn't meant in any negative manner - simply to state that people here will have a lot of opinions of what your vehicle should be worth. For that reason, I suggested you look at a professional website to hone in on a fair price for the vehicle you're buying.

Nada - I believe - uses data found in real world situations such as dealership sales as well as dealer auctions. Using a professional website will give you a clue as where you sit with the deal that you want to make, happen.

In your 350z scenario - you say kbb is showing a value of 4k-4.5k, is that private party? If so, what is value for retail? If retail is 7k, what would make a buyer buy from a private party vs a dealer??? Perhaps the 350z market is slightly skewed, especially if there's a special edition model that's hard to find.



I come from a background of supra's and rx7's - so yes, sometimes pricing guides can be a little off BUT that's really geared more towards niche vehicles that are no longer in production - case in point, your 350z example. The successor is the 370z. Being that the 4runner you're looking at is the current model, you'll be doing yourself a favor (and anyone else looking to purchase) by researching pricing through those sites (KBB, edmunds, nada).
 
It seems to be a fair price. I was looking at a 2016 SR5 4x4 with 40k miles and they were willing to take $29.7k. It was silver though and the interior wasn't in the best condition.
Cargurus gave me a fair estimate about what the T4R's were running for in my area.

None. Was a personal lease that as far as I can gather was a leased vehicle here in town and just turned in at the end of the contract without purchasing.
 
so blast from the past here, but just wanted to again give a shout out to all who helped in the endeavor, and I FINALLY pulled the trigger and bought myself a 4runner. (2015 premium w/ low miles for a decent enough price). Hurricane Harvey drove up the used car market in Texas, so I had to eat that, but it'll hold its value regardless.

so now I can peruse the forums, learn what I need, and start making it my own!
