5th Gen Spotted Thread

Why do people remove license plate frames that they get for free from the dealer? Looks naked without the frames.

I think it looks good without a frame, but to each their own. I certainly am not going to advertise for a piece of shit car dealer.

First thing I do is remove the front plate and frame completely, even though I am suppose to run a plate, 18 years in WA never been stopped, and switch out the rear with a plain black frame. The advertising frames get hung in the garage.

Getting excited for a free dealer frame? Who cares. I have them take their tacky decal off the rear tailgate too b4 delivery.

you are correct, its looks naked without a plain black frame but I would rock no frame before I would rock "Ryan's Fords" or where ever you bought your Yota.

My purchase of a vehicle is ALWAYS contingent upon ensuring that there is absolutely no form of advertising from the dealership; stickers/emblems/plate frames. I have no problem spending 30 bucks on frames I like.

You guys are lucky. I haven't been pulled over for it while driving, but as soon as I pulled the front plate from our Acura we started getting tickets for it every time we were parked in downtown Portland. That became not worth it real fast.

We don't have front plates in PA thankfully.

I see this 5th Gen parking in the Fox Tower garage where I work in Downtown Portland. Nice ride with T4R.ORG sticker in the side window.

I see this one every so often around Eureka, California. It has the Stormtrooper get up going on, even has a stormtrooper hitch cover. I believe it's a girl that drives it.

I don't keep my frames on either but why are you calling them a piece of shit?? Don't forget that without that piece of shit dealer you wouldn't have your piece of shit truck.

Those same piece of shit dealers lobby Congress with billions to keep the current sales model of vehicles alive--otherwise they'd just be warranty service shops.

It's one of the last businesses where flat out lying to to the customer is not only legal but encouraged.

They're not doing anyone a favor by still being around.

I don't disagree with you at all. Im not a fan of dealers either but they are not all bad. I work in service and refuse to take people for their hard earned money. If a car needs work I bring the customer out and show them and we see what happens.

My sales guys are pure scum though with the exception of a very few and far between

You answered your own question in the span of 2 posts. Need I address it, also, or are you good with your own answer?

The customer service field in general sucks and that's anywhere you go. Like I said though there are those few places that we all like. I mean I work for a dealership but I'm not a fanboy that will stand behind some of the stuff that happens here. It's hard to find a decent mechanic or sales person anywhere these days.

Is that better? And no I'm not trying to be a smart ass right now either
