5th Gen springs vs Fj Springs on 4th Gen

Any rubbing with those tires? Im looking at doing the exact same thing, but using gen 5 springs in the front and back, then putting 265/70/18s on. Did your 4runner have x-reas?

I'm not sure if you're asking me or the person who posted after me... but I'll chime in anyways. I had X-reas and ditched it. It's a better ride now.

Very small rub on front mudflaps at full lock. Trimmed the a bit and now no more rubbing. I didn't even take the off, just cut a small piece off to make them more flat.

But having installed rears from a 5th gen a while back there not really any improvement.

So no height and no load capacity improvement? Like less sag under load?

Got a pair of 2017 4r rear springs for $5 and I'm just wanting less sag or sustained height with load as I run around with hundreds of lbs in tools and stereo 24/7

I went with 5th gen coils and got about an inch in the rear. They are also rated at a slightly higher weight since the 5th gen weighs more. One of those things that I think everyone's 4r will be a little different. I havent towed with them yet, but my hope is also they handle towing better than the stock springs with 130k i replaced them at

I put my $5, 5th gen rears with 5k miles on Thursday had 193k mile stockers and took them fir their 1st offroading today. I have a heavy stereo and a bunch of tools and I like the stiffer springs I didn't measure but it seems like it isn't quite as low maybe .5-1" with the maybe 400lbs I run around with back there. Matches the front taco trd fronts with spacers better for sure ride wise. Have 2" spacers in rear too (budget built for clearance to get to most of the offroad only beaches we frequent) and I definitely hope to get some long travels eventually but for my girl's ride and for now it does pretty good

What brand size spacer you have with the front taco struts.
Also spacer brand in rear, did you use stock shocks in rear, thanks

Does this make it level now, I have the taco fronts but still undecided on rears.

picked up new 5th gen springs for $60 yesterday on CL

spent hours diggings through old posts yesterday, looks like they are pretty dang comparable to the FJ's. I will be doing 5100's @ 1.75 + 5th gen springs, and daystar rear 1.5" next weekend.

How did this work out? I currently have 5th gen springs with 5100 at .85. I know the 5th gens have 2 more coils and are longer.

Do you get coil binding? Because the coils on mine are already close.

And the ride quality?
