I went with a local group to what they call a "101 Trail" where even non-paying member are invited to try their trucks and know the capabitities of them. We had over 30 trucks showing up and I ended up guiding one of the beginners group.

I'm the silver 4Runner in this pic (we only got another 5th gen 4Runner)

It's in the St-Donat, Québec area. The local club is Club TORQ and they are going back at this exact trail in fall, but have many others trails in between. Check also, overlandquebec.com, exploringnh.com and Yankee's Toys for any other ideas. On both Club TORQ and overlandquebec, their forum are in French, but if you post in English we will answer in English, but feel free to contact me directly.

Despite best efforts to do some dispersed camping in the backcountry, I got a late start and seems like every place I had research (and even some I hadn't) were just jam-packed with people. For as remote as I was, I thought for sure, I'd have at least a couple of options...

...No such luck.

But, I did enjoy a great scouting drive for wildflower photography in a few weeks!!
