Sadly parted ways with 2006 SE. Insurance deemed total loss and paid 9.1K for it (189K miles). Went and got me 2019 ORP. Pic from Dealer lot. Now time to get buys with some mods.

First Beach Day

Took the 4runner on its first oversand day. Discovered something kind of crazy while we were at it. Can you guess what it is?

I kinda rushed it, but it was two nights, three days. Would have made a better three night trip at least but it'll do for now. I went counter-clockwise so only had to shorten up the last leg where I planned to hit the driving beaches at either Moclips or Ocean Shores. I swear I'm gonna be at the beach every single weekend this summer.

The rain wasn't half bad, only picking up in the evening of the first night so just cut my campfire time short. The second and third days were fantastic with zero rain and minimal clouds.

Not bad for this time of year, yeah? I also love the winter first come-first serve campsites as opposed to the long wait list summer reservation system.

After some research I discovered it was a juvenile humpback! They think it was tangled in a fishing net and wore itself out...

Please tell me you crawled over it.

LOL I can see it now: CC kicks in, get your front wheels up, back wheels next, then BAM the weight causes you break through the decomposing flesh and bottom out INSIDE the whale.

That's unfortunate to see a whale beached like that. Could've been caused by a Titleist golf ball but we'd need a marine biologist to help us with that one.
