The good news is sales of T4R are up about 2% calendar year to date at 86,776
The bad news is October sales were down about 19% compared to October of '05

Not good for resale value for us current owners. It wouldn't matter to me, since I plan to drive mine til the wheels fall off. A buddy of mine just picked up a '07, hasn't take delivery yet though. No incentives as far as I know.

Keep in mind: last year the refreshed '06 launched (if I recall correctly) in the late September-October timeframe, so last year's sales may have been high due to that.

The number I'm more interested in is the YTD sales, which are not too shabby with a 1.8 percent increase from 2006 to 2005. Even if November and December 2006 sales lag, overall sales for the year will be flat or down just a little.

That's pretty good for a mid-size SUV...

I was surprised at how well the FJ is doing, not sure what Toyota's expectations were but it sold over 5,000 in October and is about half of T4R sales YTD - which seems pretty good.

I think that this is a big part of the reason for the year-to-year 4Runner sales decline as well.

I just hope that the debut of the FJ doesn't lead to a less trail worthy 5th gen 4Runner (i.e., unibody, indepdent 4 wheel suspension, etc. ).

Here in Eastern Pennsylvania it does apear the incentives on the 4Runner are not currently available. I am waiting until the end of November to see if my Toyota dealer starts doing the year-end/leftover mark-downs they have done in the past. Those mark-downs coupled with the Toyota rebate made purchasing my 4Runner a no-brainer back in 2004.

Looks like I spoke too soon. Saw in the Sunday paper (11/04) that the 4Runner has $2K cash back or 1.9% financing incentives.

Mine was slashed down about $3,500 from sticker when i got mine in Jun. Must have been gettin rid of the 06s at the time, or maybe cuz they had this "Sale" going on which spelled the difference if i bought it 2 days earlier.

My sales rep told my friend there's a $1000 rebate now.
