6.5 Comps in front and rear with amp

Hey all,

I'm about ready to order to sets of 6.5 Alpine Type S component speakers for the front and rear of my 2004 4runner. I already have a pioneer head unit.
I plan on powering those bad boys with a 4 channel hifonics amp.

I just want anyones thoughts on install, has anyone done 6.5s in the front? and has anyone done components in the back? where should i mount the tweeter?

Secondly, door panels? I'm really nervous about that part... does anyone have any advice on that?

I have 6.5" components in the front of my 3rd gen powered by a 2 channel amp. the rear door speakers i left stock for now. i plan on upgrading them soon, but will have the internal amp from my Alpine HU powering them. The way i figured it, save the money on the 4 channel amp and put that towards better speakers in the front. I mean, when you go to a concert, you don't face the opposite direction of the stage to listen to them, all the sound is coming from in front of you.

I have 6.5 comps in my fronts but not the rears. The door panels are really easy to take off so do be alarmed. I'm saying this as someone who quite frankly sucks at building stuff from Ikea and had no problems pulling my door panels off. There is a crutchfield diagram on how to step by step pull of your doors floating around somewhere on this board that if you search for "door Panel" I bet you will find it. If not, PM me and I'll see if I still have the PDF.

Where are you mounting your amp? I ended up getting an Alpine PDX5 for both my 4channel and my sub. I wish I had gotten the JL audio HD900 but at the time the PDX was way cheaper. If you want a 5 channel amp that you can hide away under our front passenger seat, look at the JL.

i had this crazy idea of mounting the amp in the space in the middle seat where the fold down cup holders are.... but i don't that will come through. for now, i'll probably screw it on to a heavy piece of wood and put a lot of velcro on the wood so it stays secure.. but once i build my sub box i'm gong to mount my mono and four channel on the box (the box will be triangular)

what subs and speaks are you rockin?

They sound pretty good. My biggest struggle is actually reducing the vibration/noise in my runner so I can enjoy more of the detail that the speakers can put out. I've got a bulk kit of dynamat coming next tues to deaden my doors and some of my floorboard. That helps keep the sound in the truck so you don't have to fight the noise by turning the volume up as much.

lucky you! yeah, the road noise really does bother me.. but i've just gotten used to turning it up...

did you install the comps and amp yourself? im having a lot of trouble deciding what to do install wise... i have two sets of comps and a 4 channel amp just sitting in my room because i dont have the 300 (one store says, another one said 500!) to shell out on installl... any thoughts on this?
