7" of lift from 5100"s??!!!

Guys, I could use some help. I just installed 5100's on my '08 2WD V6 with stock springs. Haven't installed the rear shocks or Daystar spacers yet. Prior to the install, the left front was at 32 3/8, and the right front was 32 3/4.

I set the spring perch at the highest setting, which is supposed to give 2 1/2" lift, right? Well after the install and taking it around the block a few times to let it settle, the left front is at 39 1/4" and the right front is at 39 1/2"!!! Holy shit, this ain't good!

What the hell is going on? I'm positive I installed them correctly, the old shock bushings were removed, etc. I've triple checked everything, and it all seems correct. I even indexed the camber cams back to their original position. Any ideas??? I really don't want to tear this thing down and do it again...

Part number for the shocks is 24-186711, and below that is F4-BE5-C475-H1

Post a close up pic of the shock, in betting the lower spring perch is installed upside down.

post some more pics of the strut itself but I'm thinking that your "before" measurements were off. 39" or so fender height is what I ended up with after 5100s and 885s on my V6. Also, as ASR stated, a lot of times, the perches are installed upside down.

yes, the spring perch is on upside down. it's the black metal piece that the spring rests on, the flared end should be facing down, not up

I'm such an a-hole rookie. Four hours down the drain just to end up looking like I'm entering the Baja 1000...

I'm going to throw that spring perch up against the wall a few times, smash it in the bench vice, and then think about redoing it tomorrow. Thanks guys - you're geniuses.

It looks like you have cholo-hydraulics installed and "Lowrider" is playing in the background as your Runner bounces up and down in the driveway! And, yes, you're about 7 minutes away from me. In fact, I'm going to be down at the Home Depot at Dixie Farm and 518, in about an hour! I was only asking where you were as I was going to offer my help if you were not too far away... But apparently, you've got it all under control! Interestingly, there's now about 4 or 5 of us with modded 4th gens within an 6 mile radius.

Be CAREFUL unloading those!!! A local guy lost his finger tip removing a setup just like that. Use a wall mounted spring compressor if possible. The bell has to be going down and covering up the c-clip grooves.

Um, I think he already completed the perch correction earlier this morning, and he was heading out to get his BFG AT KO's installed. So all is good in fullboogie-land.

Done. Needs washing badly, but you get the idea. Oddly enough, I got around 4" of lift in the front and 2" in the back. Maybe the difference between V6 and V8 - I don't know. But I like the look.
