7m swap cost

Hey guys, I am looking at what the value of a Freshly rebuilt toyota supra motor for a 4runner motor swap and what you think is a fair price for this unit.

This is what I know at the moment

Motor was pulled from a car just like mine (see garage for viewing Jesus)

The guy sent it to a machine shop to have it decked and bored and ran out of money. Thought he had a basic head job and ran into scored crank, rusted cylinders, and the decking on the block and head. He bought driftmotion NPR pistons, ARP head studs and a full gasket set top to bottom, clevite bearings are all brand new.

He wants me to make him an offer for the complete unit with ecu and wiring.

Around here this is rare so I am not sure what type of price to offer. I paid 800 bucks for a used long block last summer for my car and sold it for the same price fairly easily. :flamethrwoer2::driving:

I don't think they are interchangeable but you can check ebay for prices.

You could start by seeing how much he has into it now.
If he just did all that he should have receipts.

figure whats its worth when its done.
figure how much it will take to get it done.

- at least with motorcycles. it dosent matter how much the last owner spent. its what its selling for now and how much it cost to get it to that price. people loose money and make bad investments.

just my 2 C.

I've done a little research into the inline 6cyl swaps in these trucks and Tacomas and I've been fiddling with the idea for a while. In my opinion the easiest route would be to A) Run an R150f 5sp trans or B) Use the turbo A340E trans and swap to a 4wd tailhousing and output shaft to run the stock transfer case (The route I'm considering). I haven't seen any concrete proof of the 7mgte's turbo fitment in the engine bay, where I know the 1/2JZ's have to run a single turbo (and that adds $1500 to the swap cost right off the bat) Other than that, I read heresay that the 3rz mounts will almost work (easier to build off of) and if you want to use your stock trans with the 7m I would assume you'd need a 7m bellhousing but I'm not 100% on that one...some apps use a JZ one. Cost wise? How much work will you do and how good are you (read patient/lucky) at finding deals on parts?
