85 Runner Engine problem

I recently got my hands on a 85 runner, totally stock and am having a starting problem. Most of the time she starts fine. I can go from the house to work no problem and she will start for the home trip, but if I drive her for a wile and get the engine up to heat and shut it off it wont start. I turn the key and everything in the dash lights up, radio comes on, all electrical seams to work and I can hear the starter click. What could it be? The starter is relatively new and the batterie is brand new. I don't think it is the alternator because all electrical seems to work. Any suggestions?
Thanks

If the starter solenoid clicks but the starter motor doesn't turn, either it's bad or the connection of the battery to starter cable is bad. Failing starters frequently don't work when hot.

Thanks. I will have to rip out my starter tomorrow and run it down to autozone and have it tested. Its relatively new so I am hoping a starter repair kit will do the trick. Thanks for your time!

Ok well it was not the starter. Took that down and had it tested today. Said it was strong as an ox. So I replaced both terminals on the bat so we will see that will work. If not I have to idea what it could be...
