My 22re motor is giving me a bit of a problem! I drove around for about 5min and then the motor started to sputtering. Cranked it back up and it shut off again and again and again. checked the cold start injector and it has plenty of fuel pressure so i don't think its the fuel pump but i could be wrong.. any ideas ?????

Out of fuel? Clogged fuel filter? Busted signal wire to the injectors? Lost timing? Hole in the intake boot or broken signal wire from the AFM? Blown head gasket or other catastrophic loss of compression?
Could be a lot of things, man, you're going to need to start from scratch.

So if you've got reason to suspect fuel pressure, rent a fuel pressure tester from the auto parts store and test it right. "Fuel sprays out when I crack the fitting" is a little bit short of accurate.

i had an intermittent sputter for the last few months. checked every thing. turned out that my cold start injector had a minor leak and flooded out my rig at certain times. i figured it out by unplugging the injector every time i had it fired up. if it runs better with it unplugged u may have the same issue.

on a side note....as badvision has taught me, its usually tps related. id start at it and the coldstart injector.
As KidV said, check your fuel pressure. If you don't have good fuel pressure then look into your fuel filter first, it's a cheap fix. If you STILL don't have fuel pressure then it may be your pump.
If you have good fuel pressure when you test it then look into your timing. Verify your timing with a timing light and make sure it's correct.
If the timing is good then start checking your AFM, coolant temp sensor, tps, and ALL other sensors on the engine. The 22re is a very easy engine to work on. Check fuel, timing and spark. If you have all of that then it's a engine sensor or wire issue.
