87 T4R specific vac questions W/ diagram

OK, the truck is a 1987. 22RE, 5 speed, NON California emissions.

During my high idle diagnosis, I was changing out all the vac lines to eliminate possible leaks.
The previous owner butchered it pretty bad...had the vac line from the cruise control going to the top of the EGR valve.

Anyway, I am trying to follow everything on this diagram, but some things are confusing....I'v colored some of the lines to help with the diagnosis.

Some of the VSV lines merge together on the diagram and I cannot determine where they continue after the mess of lines.

Also, the green line goes to some sort of sensor I cannot find on my engine.

The spring loaded thingy on the intake has two ports that are not on Toyota's diagram, therefore they do not show where the vac lines go to or from on them.

I have disconnected the cruise control, so if someone can tell me where the vac line SHOULD be hooked up, I can plug that port, right?

Any help would be appreciated...

I looked at my 89, but it does't have those 2 hoses.

Brand X called me last night. We traced the lines and I THINK I have them all in the right spots His truck is an '86 and is not exactly set up like mine, but it seems to be close enough.

Now on to the rest of the high idle diagnosis...

Did you get it all figured out?

It looks to me like the yellow and green lines are the same, and the purple and brown lines are the same...

As for an empty nipple on the engine, it could be from something that's been removed, like a vacuum gauge. If you have anything open, that could cause the high idle, and you could just cap it.

I've got nothing open, as far as I can tell....

The brown line on the diagram goes to....nothing I can find on the engine.

I hooked the other VSV line to the spring loaded thingy on the intake. The other line on the spring loaded thingy I capped off.

RPM's still high, but I have not had time to delve into it further. Hope to in the next few days....

no more drama

That springy thingy helps control you idle. I had problems with it before on my 86. If its not hooked up properly you wont be able to get your idle down. The 2 small vacuum lines go to the vsv. the 1 in the front side goes to the throttle body and the middle sized 1 pointing towards the drivers side goes to the distributer
