89 EFI turns over but will not start

Please help, i have been diagnosing a window issue and was digging around in the wiring harness yesterday, i have plugged everything back in and no blown fusses, yesterday was starting and running just fine. figured out issue with windows BUT now it will not start and the M4 relay gets very hot. when M4 relay (EFI relay) is not hot the ohms read within tolerance when hot it is way over, could this be my problem, the M4 relay.

Buy a new relay and install it. That relay is a common failure item. I would try this first.

I have been having the exact same issues with my 89 4runner and I replaced the EFI relay and it ran for about a day. It also was getting hot with a brand new relay. What could be an underlying problem to this?????

You might get a hold of a wiring diagram for your truck and follow the circuit. Sounds like it is grounding, or high resistance through the wiring at one point. Clean the ground circuits around the engine bay, including the battery. Make sure the electric portion of the ignition switch is not getting hot, might be your issue. I know ours is coming due.
