Loving it. Using nothing but hand tools and creativity...great job.

Here is the way I look at it. So many people have old vehicles and when they start to rust they just do nothing about it. I was like that too with my first car when I was younger. The rust just keeps going and eventually overtakes the vehicle, destroys its value, and sometimes even stops the vehicles functionality. But you did something about it and you are helping to keep another 4runner from wasting away and keeping it on the road.

As one fellow rust battler to another...I commend you:bravo:

Two things:
1: that is some of the best bad body work I have ever seen. For what you guys used, that thing looks near stock.

2: that hose was likely for your rear washer. People (myself included) have lost or damaged the bag in the back and ran hose from the font tank to wash the back window.

No sir, I did not use proper english.

It is still on the truck, and just as strong and rust free.

Remember we really had zero fabrication skills, so for the majority of you guys who can weld and have some metal working skills it is pretty easy to do a halfway decent job if you are looking to keep it on the road, not perfection.

I still love this thread. Mine was fixed before it came along or I would have done it your way. It occurred to me recently that you can make patch panels from spare doors and front fenders. The doors have the body line so there's no need for bending. The front fenders have the dog leg line so you use the RF fender to fix the LR wheel well.

Nice job guys. Truly some barnyard engineering. And I'm a farm boy so that's a compliment.. I live in Mn so I feel your pain. I used pro 15 20 years ago on a gto and it has still surprised me. Something else to consider is spraying with lps3. I swear by it. I spray it in my rockers and inside my doors etc.
