I currently have an older set of 6 1/2 components up front installed. One of the crossovers is giving me problems intermittently so I am looking to replace parts individually going the diy route. If I were to replace the woofer, I would be interested in a larger woofer for more midbass impact (assuming I stay away from 6x9 comps for the time being). My question is, has anyone installed 8 inch mid/woofers in the stock location.
For reference, the current width of the basket is 5.35" and the depth is 2.3" (top mounted on a 1/2" baffle).
