90 runner 3.0 4x4 auto. trany wont shift to od unless it at running temp. i kno all of um are like that but iv changed thermo, and today changed atf temp sensor today. not sure if i changed the right one tho. there are 2 similar looking sensors on the pass side of trany. i changed the one beside the two fluid intake and output (im guessing thats what they were). after changing truck switched to od a few times then back to good ol 3rd gear. it seems to be keeping a good running temp, and misterously the speedo stopped working, so.... did i change the wrong sensor? what could make the speedo stop working? btw if i put cardboard in front of the rad, od works fine but i do not like doing that, i would rather have it mechanicly correct. could it be faulty rad? please help! thx for your time. all assistance appreciated.

Ahhh. That paragraph was so hard to read. Hurt my old eyes hurt so much without capital letters to let me know a new sentence has started. :)

Ok. Enough of the joking.

You need to make sure you put in the correct thermostat. I had a similar experience and it ended up being a cheap aftermarket thermostat was preventing the engine from heating up to the required temperature. I bought an OEM thermostat from my local toyota dealer and the fixed it.
