90 T4R Signals Or Hazard out of commission

The other day my girl was driving my T4R to the store and back and came back with some bad news.. the signals stopped working she said.

I'm thinking "fuse" or "relay" but it turns out a couple days later after replacing that it still is unremedied.

Checked both the under dash and under hood fuses (even replaced em) still no dice!

The hazards still worked I noticed and after removing the column shell and tilting the wheel, all the sudden the flashers worked I tested them multiple times and told myself finally and put the shell back together and reported all is well. I get back into the Runner later that day and check them but nothing.. no cluster lights no click natta sound. checked fuses and still intact.

the next morning I tried to attempt the column again and see what is going on with the switch. I clicked the hazard switch on (working on cluster and outside) and off then back on and blew another fuse. I replaced again but this time the hazards quit all together now I just get a single click each time I press the button on from the flasher relay and also noticed a little smoke come from the wiper switch PCB located behind the steering wheel.

At this point I felt maybe the switch could be the issue with shorting out or something I'm still unsure to this day if it is the issue. anyways I started to look under the column to pull the switches from the column and came across a wire hung up on the spring located under the steering column.. now I'm sure that it was getting shorted out. although the wire is not part of the flasher switch. The wire was exposed and touching the spring.

I removed the wire and checked the other wires for damage also, I taped the one wire, the rest were okay. I removed the wheel today and removed the entire switch from the column and checked the PCB's and internals of both the wiper and headlight/turn switch. even though smoke came from the wiper switch I couldn't find an issues with anything on the PCB nothing really burned up or any on-board fuses damaged. Everything on the Wiper switch still works. I installed everything back to the column ( my horn now works).. but still no turn or hazard. just the one click from the relay no cluster lights or outside lights, fuses still intact.

All dash shells are removed and I can't find any damaged wires behind the cluster, stereo, etc.

I could replace the switch and see if that works. Just a shame no junkyard will allow you to try the part first before shelling out the cash.

Checking on the forum to see if anyone else has come across this issue in there T4R past and could throw me some clues to anything else I should be looking over before wasting any cash as I prefer to test before replacing.

Ok, that was a lot and I didn't read it all, but if either hazards or turns are working the flasher module is good. Same one for both.
But the there are different fuses for each.
Also, if the hazard switch is stuck mid position weird stuff will happen.

So I got a new switch and still nothing. I get no lights on the interior or exterior of the runner. when I press the hazard button the relay clicks but stops after one click but no lights on inside or out come on. when I play with the hazard switch a bit, pressing it in most the way but not letting it click all the way in I get clicking from my relay multiple times like the relay is working as intended but still no interior or exterior flashing.. I've checked the bulbs and they all are intact as they should be, no burn outs. I checked the cluster circuit deal on the back and removed to see if the fuse links were separated but all was fine.

not sure where to go from here...
