4.88s were installed today. ARB compressor still has to go in. LED bar and reverse floods still need to go on as well. Removed front top plate spacers and installed rear air bags as well. Not putting in the rear trim packers now. I'm hoping my buddy will have the rest of the work done by Sunday so I can start the break-in procedure on the gears. Front Energy sway bar bushings are in but the rears were wrong model so leaving them. Extended sway links going in next as well. With the front lowered the wheels will need to be aligned again. Decided to order the SPC UCA's since everything else is in the front is new now to match. Here's how it sits now.

It kind of just spiraled out of control pretty fast lol. Not much work got done over the weekend as the power steering rack went on my brother's new to him 2010 Tundra...

Here's a pic of his next to mine when he picked it up a couple weeks ago. His has a spacer lift(from previous owner) and leveling kit. He's going to swap the front out for OME suspension.

Thanks I originally got the color idea from my brother who used to have a green Nissan Frontier with bronze Nismo wheels. When I saw RockRat's I was sold.

Build is coming along. Got the SPC UCA's in as well as the extended sway bar end links. Drove the truck about 40 miles not getting on it but I can tell the low end is better already. Gonna be a painful break-in process seeing as I barely ever drive the thing lol.

I kind of feel I just met my twin! My dad had a 79 Cobra he passed to me when I was a kid that we ended up selling because a Mustang enthusiast offered us something we could not refuse. I then got an 86 Ford Bronco 351w lifted, 35's, holley carb, headers. Then I owned 2 1g DSM's, 1st was a 90 AWD panda, 14b, e85, 300+whp. 2nd was 93 AWD, e85, e316g, 400+whp. I then parted that out to help with my down payment on my house. Bought the 3rd gen because I didnt want to get in trouble on the street and was tired of putting clutches in the damn thing.

Now me and my brother are building a 90 Panda AWD, Auto swap, high stall, 50 shot, big turbo. Hoping for low 9's in CO which is dreaming most likely. HAHA.

Too funny! I wish I knew now about how to make dsm's fast compared to back when I had mine. Everyone thought the autos were crap and junked them. They're easiest way to go fast now and not break drive-line parts as easily. I would build one the same way you are now.

My truck is going to another shop this week to have a few things finished and then it'll be done. Break-in miles will be completed on the gears by then too so the fluid can be swapped and I can really drive it.

RPM's now with the 4.88s and 285/75R16 BFG A/T KO2's:
60mph = 2100
65mph = 2350
70mph = 2600
75mph = 2800
80mph = 3000

My truck has been in the shop since last Monday but the end of the tunnel is in sight... The lights have been wired as well as the compressor mounted and wired to the rear locker. The air lines to the rear air bags have been ran as well. Just a few more maintenance mods to complete including diagnosing an EVAP code which is probably a bad valve(new gas cap already) and she'll be good to go. The compressor was mounted inside the left rear panel in cargo area with a nice access to it and the air bag lines. Switches for the for new accessories were wired too. The red switch I had already to turn off VSC/TRAC.

We are about to have matching trucks, just mine will have double the mileage. I have the level 8 / K02 combo on its way. I got the gunmetal though with the thought that bronze wheels won't match any other truck should I get a cleaner 4runner.

Nice man! I don't think you'll be disappointed with the look as I've gotten a lot of compliments on the wheel/tire combo.



I finally got my truck back from the shop yesterday and they did a really clean job finishing up the installs. I'm super happy. The quick disconnect for compressor in the trunk to air up my tires is freakin sweet. The rear spot lights are mounted like such so one of them shines down on the trailer tongue for my boat at night and the other will shine the rest of the boat. They're obviously adjustable though so I can move them in any direction needed. The light bar is super bright but it screams in the wind as the speeds climb so I'm gonna have to look into a way to rectify that. I bought some diffusers to try but read mixed reviews so we'll see. Also read about adding door edge guards to the bottom 4 rows of vents to try next if they don't work. Any other advice?



I'm gonna try to get the truck detailed this week maybe tomorrow even and then get some good pictures taken when I can. It's bow season now to free time is tight but I'll do my best to share when I can. Here's pic I got from the shop while they were finishing it up.

Ordered clear corners and markers from Burtman this weekend to clean up the front end look. Also ordered PIAA 15224 H4 Xtreme White Plus headlight bulbs and Hella H3 100W Yellow Star fogs. I think I'm going to look into replacing the factory speakers too as they just suck.

Decided I couldn't take the stock garbage speakers any longer and the bluetooth missing the microphone on the truck anymore. Ordered a Kenwood Excelon DPX592BT head unit and 2 pairs of MTX Terminator653 6-1/2" 3-way speakers for it. Came to $300 shipped from Crutchfield so not a big expense.

The head unit and speakers are now in. Good bit of cutting and trimming was needed to fit the 6.5's in the back doors. Sorry don't have any pics to share. Overall not impressed with them to be honest. I think it's the head unit and it having really shitty tuning options. Oh well too late now not switching them out again and at least I have a working bluetooth now. The clear corner markers took a long time to ship but I did receive them just haven't installed them yet.

Two weeks ago I took the truck to upstate NY for steelhead/salmon brown trout fishing in Olcott, NY. The truck performed flawlessly except for the incredibly loud light bar whistling on the highway. Gas mileage is crap but I didn't expect much from a lifted truck with 33s with only a V6. The BEST I saw was only 14.5mpg all highway on a roughly 800 mile total trip. I know the mpg is slightly better because the speedo shows 70mph but it's really doing 72-73mph on the gps. I had a great trip and caught a lot of fish. Since I got home I added the clear corners and yellow fogs and the slight touch of rice just completes the truck IMO.
