Hey guys!!! I wanted to join this thread because you guys are the experts at these trucks. My 4 runner starts and then dies right up after. I replaced the THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR, and of course it wasn't the problem.

Its not throwing a code and i've tested if its getting spark and fuel. Both seem to check out ok.

ANY CLUE?? Please, I am trying to see my kids this weekend, need my truck!! Please guys help me?

There is a whole list of items it could be. If you are thinking fuel try spraying some carb cleaner in it while someone tries to start it if it starts up and runs than at least you know for sure it is in the fuel system somewhere. Next would be to check fuel pressure, or just jump to checking fuel pressure.

That's the thing..it starts right up fine. But once it goes to try to idle it sputters and dies. I hit the gas and just still dies. I unloosen the injector line and cranked it and GAS sprayer everywhere. Any thoughts?

If you are getting fuel then it is probably not the pump. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter. If it is clogged it could be starving it. You can jump the fuel pump relay to double check it. I can't remember the exact pins that need to be jumped in the diagnostic port but I am sure a little searching will net them for you.

I am not sure how to check the fuel filter... Sorry on that.

Beyond that it could be a number of things. starting but not running could be bad injectors, but would be unusual for all of them to kick out.

It might not even be the fuel system, could be something on the spark side of things as well. Also you might check your MAF and also make sure that you don't have a hole in the intake somewhere. Maybe a broken intake tub or bad connection.

I wish I could give you more specific advice but you need 3 things to run, spark, fuel and air, it could fall on any one of those.

I would start by checking the fuel pump by jumping the diagnostic port and if it runs then I would probably jump over to the intake and start checking things out.

It has the 3.0 6V motor in it. It runs well when its running, I can't imgaine all the injectors going out on it all at one time. If it was a fuel filter wouldn't it react to me pumping the gas and even holding the pedal to the floor? I've done both of those and it still dies ...its acts as if Im not even hitting on the pedal.
