92 4runner rear wobble at 65mph

I have a 92 4runner with a 4 inch ProComp lift. Its been on there for years and years so I dont think its a factor in my problem.....

When traveling at about 65 miles an hour my truck occasionally starts to wander/wobble in the rear. It feels like you are driving in a sizeable earthquake and could easily roll. Other than this it drives fine on and off road.

I smell gear oil by the passenger side rear axle but it is not showing signs of leakage (wet backing plate). Any ideas? Bent axle?

my 01 was doing the same thing. i just replaced the bottom control arms on the rear axle and that cured the problem. the bushings are available from toyota about $35 per bushing. i bought used arms from a crashed runner that were in good condition. i plan to make some poly bushings for mine if they work i may start selling kits.

Vibes could be suspension bushings or a bad wheel bearing (which could also cause the axle seal to leak)

When you say no wet backing plate, is that based on outside view, or did you pull the wheel to check?
