92 6cyl Manual Back up light switch removal & replacement

Got to get the annual inspection and backup lights don't work. Checked fuses and bulbs and they are fine. This problem has been intermittent for a few years but is now permanent. A little research suggest this switch is the likely culprit. I am a total novice and would appreciate help with determining the location of the switch - picture would be nice. The truck is still is awesome driving condition despite this small issue and appreciate some good advice. Mahalo!

This picture appears to show it coming off the middle of the passenger side of the transmission.

Kid- I assume the wire shown is connected into the switch. Is this on the side facing the ground? Must be very small as I can't make out much more than the wire.

It should be on the side of the transmission. Stick your head down there and look.
